And some of the attributes aren't pretty. But I stop at describing someone that other people will know--like a crazy neighbor that my family will know. That crazy neighbor might be reading my book. :) But I do use characteristics of certain folks. For example, there was a person at church when my kids were younger who was off her meds. And she behaved in a bizarre manner--threw hymnbooks at my kids, etc. I'm going to use her (under a different name) because this was a long time ago and I don't think she'll remember the incident anyway because she was impaired at the time. But if I write about crabby old Aunt Myrtle (who doesn't exist btw), she or her family would read it and just get pissed at me. But thanks for your comments and suggestions. I appreciate it.
