12/14 Christmas tree tragedy

I had a wonderful time at my department Christmas party. We played the Wii Guitar Hero and sang karaoke. Great fun.

I came home and began writing my article for last night. I heard a crash. One of the cats (I think it was the baby) climbed in the tree and the whole thing came crashing down. Ornaments and tree parts (an artificial one) were scattered everywhere.

It was so depressing (and it was so late by then) that I just went to bed and picked things up this morning. Haven't put the ornaments back on the tree. Just can't make myself do it.

Those animals are lucky I love them.

Until we got our artificial tree, Joe ALWAYS wired the tree up, since we always managed to somehow have a crooked tree. The year the living room was gutted, we thought we'd do something fun and different and put the tree in the center of the room. I fell 3 times that year. It went back to being wired up the next. Have fun getting yours back together.

I honestly thought about wiring it to the wall, but thought better of it. (Guess I thought worse of it.)

That was terrible, Mom. Thank you for not kicking the cats! ;-) These things will happen now and than, and all what you can do is to just get used to it. That's what I did. Keeps me calmer... (hence the article on anger today :-)

I had to practice everything I wrote about in the article. :) Although I did yell BAD KITTY for quite a while. :)
