3/13 They're gone

Jan, Tim, Cindy, and Eric left this morning at 5 AM. I miss them already.

Yesterday we spent the whole day in New Orleans. We started with a trip across Lake Ponchartrain. Someone said the bridge was 26 miles long, but we haven't verified it. But I'll tell ya--that sucker is LONG. Eric and Jan took some wonderful pictures and Eric is going to post them on his website.

Then we took the streetcar through the Garden District. We walked around and found another cool cemetery. A cemetery gave us a tour. He was a real character and we got to see an open above-ground grave. Very fun.

Afterward we went to the French Quarter and spent the rest of our time. We ate at the Gumbo Shop and ended the day with begnets and coffee at Cafe du Monde.

Gotta get ready for work. I'll post some pictures when they send them to me.

I miss you guys! Thanks for coming.

Sounds like you all had a good time. You'll be in Quincy before you know it. Love you.

It was wonderful, hon. And yes, the move is coming up so quickly. I'll be traveling a week from today.

Thanks again Jer for having us in your home, which was so nice, and for showing us around. Eric and I had a great time and so so much I thought I'd never get the chance to. We were on the go so much and I crashed almost all the way home, so I a so grateful that Tim and Jan were up for the long drive home. I missed my honey, and I am glad to be home with some wonderful new memories.

It was definitely a joy to have you all here. Can't wait to see the pictures Eric chooses to post.

Thanks again, Jer. We had a great time and so good to see the things that we missed on our last trip, especially the streetcars and cemeteries. Good luck with everything that you have to do this week. See you soon.

Thanks, sis. I'm packing up my office today (with Willie's help) and it's certainly bringing up some emotion. The state coordinator before me just called from Virginia to wish me well. That was sweet.

One week from today you'll already be sleeping in your new house in your old home town. With so many sibs and outlaws close by I think you are going to be very happy here!

I couldn't agree with you more, Andrea.
