Got a lot of "sorting" done this morning. Have to fax some documents to DC, so while I'm out, thought I'd check my email.
Tonight is my night with some friends. My last Open Improv class, and last trip to the New Yorker for karaoke. Looking forward to it.
My contact with the moving company came by today. He dropped off some more boxes and some packing paper. So I have plenty of boxes for when friends come over Wednesday and Thursday to help.
Spoke to Hunter for a moment this morning, and Jill for a little longer than a moment. I've been very nostalgic. Don't know about the rest of you, but when I move I cannot stop myself from looking through things--photos, letters, cards, drawings from kids. And it makes me miss my family all the more.
Rob and Beata are trying to talk me into living in NC instead of just visiting for a few months. The offer is tempting, but NC takes me even further away from the rest of the family. Quincy is in between both my kids and should make traveling to them easier.
Who knows what will happen? Heck, Beata is even lining up men for me...thinking that if I fall in love then I'll stay in NC. She's a kupka, she is. But I sure love her. Have been talking to her a lot lately.
The movers are coming next Wednesday. I'll be out of town this Friday through Monday, so I really do have to get things done really quickly....

Well Joe has moved twice...once from here, with basically the shirt on his back, and once more back here, with just me and Adam (at 6mos) in tow, so he didn't have much to "look through". The same holds true for me....NOW if we ever do move from here, THEN there will be TONS to "look through"...maybe we should just go ahead and die here! And who knows Jer, there may be some great guy just around the corner for you.
That's true, Aunt Cindy, Mom might find the love of her life right here! :-) And I am working on it... believe me! :-)
I'm glad that we were able to call back and have you talk with Kayla.
During the summer I started going through things in my cedar chest and reliving memories from high school and college. It's fun to go through old things from time to time. When we moved here it was pre-kids. I get faint at the thought of having to move the 5 of us and all of our stuff to a new house. That alone is enough reason to stay here!
I agree Kelly... that's why I stay in CA... and the weather is good too :-).
yes Jill, and you have the nastiest wildfires, mudslides and earthquakes...I like our weather here...winter snows, spring blooms, summer sunshine, and the BEST colorful Fall's ever. YOU might want to think about the midwest.
You never know... life is full of surprises... you never really know where you will end up. Right mom :-). Thanks for the thought Aunt Cindy... in the 10 years we have been here...it has crossed our mind a time or two to move back...
I love this conversation so much. Some of my favorite people...it's like sitting around a table and talking. Without the table. Miss you all.
