8/18/09 Gus is a star

Gus is a star in the Alpha Dog commercial. He's in it a few places, but at the very end he runs toward the camera all by himself. I'm so proud of my little buddy. It'll be on KHQA through 8/31. Elizabeth showed me at Alpha Dog today, but I saw it during the news tonight. Gee, this is fun. I hope to catch it on video.

7/14 Dog park

Yesterday Gus and I went to the dog park again after I got home from work. Some of his pals from the previous day were there, and it's becoming a social event for me as well as for him. Nice to see people I already "knew."

Today, I don't need to take him because he was at doggy day care and is already tired out.

The article tonight is called Trichotillomania: Pulling your hair out.

4/28/09 Have I ever said I'm tired?

That was a joke question. I know I say it all the time. But I am really tired and looking forward to going to bed in an hour or so and watching the DVR versions of Dancing with the Stars and Biggest Loser. Gussie is already sleeping--he had a wonderful day with his pals at Alpha Dog. I got to hold a puppy again today. They are adorable.

4/23 Happy birthday, dear Gussie....

Happy birthday to the Guster. He's one today and is having a slumber party at Alpha Dog. I didn't get home from work until after 8 so he stayed out there.

Hope to have a nice lunch with my sisters tomorrow afternoon. Hope it works out. Love to all.

4/21/09 Puppies....

Elizabeth had the puppies down at the kennel and they are absolutely adorable. I'm just mad that I didn't take a picture. They're about three weeks old and precious. I got to hold one. Normally that would make me want to take it home but since they're $2500 each I think I'll pass. But if I were rich one of those puppies would be mine. Gussie smelled 'em and didn't seem upset about the fact that he couldn't get in the little pen with them. But his girlfriend, Hula, the baby mama, was happy to see Gus and vice versa. They kissed through the fence. Very cute indeed.

4/9 Still tired? You betcha

I just got home a little while ago after teaching a class to parents for my job. Gus is at Alpha and I really miss the little critter. Will see him tomorrow after I do two things--work on my taxes and go to physical therapy. Am off tomorrow. Yeah!

4/6 Sometimes work isn't fun

Today was so busy I can't even begin to describe it--except to say I should have stayed most of the evening. I just threw unfinished work into the desk drawer, locked it, and jumped out of there at 5:30. Tomorrow when Gus is at Alpha Dog I'll probably not pick him up until 6:30 because there's so much to do.

4/2 Worked late

Worked late tonight so Gussie is staying at Alpha Dog. Miss him. Sigh.

Today is World Autism Day. My article is Scientists baffled: Link between autism and vinyl flooring

Now to go watch the last ER (sigh). It's on my DVR so I can watch it without commercials.

3/26 Yawn

Two thirteen hour days in a row. I am beyond tired. Then I had to come home and write an article. Ah, such is life. Gussie is spending the night at Alpha Dog because I didn't want to leave him here two evenings in a row. He's sleeping with Louie, a male Havanese, who is the proud father of five puppies born yesterday. Elizabeth is keeping him out of the house for a while, until the pups are a little bigger. Louie and Gussie are great friends and play together all the time. I'm glad Gus has another pup to sleep with. (No, Jeff, he's not gay.)

1/23 Car is in the shop

Had to take Gus out to Alpha Dog and that's way out in the country. So I made it to the service department just as the needle started edging up to Hot! It was really good timing.

Got up really early today and wrote an extra article. This one is about Quincy.

12/23/08 The good, the bad, and the fattening

The good is that I WON THE FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE. It's made up of comedians across the US. They've kept me in because I've been in it several years. I finished third once, but this is awesome.

The bad is that I got stuck in the ice yesterday at Alpha Dog. Elizabeth's husband helped me get out. The "badder" is that I got stuck there again today. Had to call a tow truck (thank you Auto Club). And the tow truck got stuck too. I laughed so hard. Was there 2 hours which wasn't too fun, but still it was funny.

And the fattening was we had a going away lunch for a staff member. Oh my heavens! Still haven't had dinner tonight because I'm kind of full. I'll eat something or else I'll wake up in the middle of the night starving.

4/15 Sorry

I just can't post on most Mondays. It's my 12-hour day and I'm so busy. Today is extremely busy too, but I'm on my lunchtime and can take a few minutes. The dogs stayed at Alpha Dog last night like they do every Monday night, but I'm having them stay tonight too.

Someone is taking us to the Patio for dinner, and I wouldn't have time to pick up the girls from the kennel prior to dinner. So I'll do almost anything for a good meal. Haven't been to the Patio since I've been back in Quincy. Of course it's not really a free meal because I'm paying for the kennel, but my reasoning makes it okay. :) I do miss the girls though, especially at night. They are such good company, except...the mud thing. But this summer that shouldn't be much of a problem--or in the winter--spring though is ridiculous with mud. But the pups are worth it.

Quincy ate the top of the trash can. And I was in the next room. Ah, puppies....
