6/20 Addiction to cell phones

Stephanie Klein wrote about this today, and it made me think.

When I was dating someone recently I had my phone on my waistband all the time. Now, it sits on my desk and when I walk away it stays on my desk.

Interesting that a man can make me have the phone surgically implanted on my hip, but other things don't. My children and grand-children are so important to me, but I know I check my phone for calls I've missed and will call them right back.

And whoever you are, if you were going to call me tonight, don't call between 8 and 10 PM Central Time. I'll be rehearsing, and the phone will be in my purse or jacket pocket or maybe even in my car. At any rate, it won't be on my hip.

Let's see if that changes if/when I start dating someone new.

i'm addicted to the computer, but oddly enough not the cell phone. yet. probably because i'm home so much of the time, plus i've never quite figured out how to use my cell phone. as soon as i begin to get the hang of it, i have to get a new one. :D

Yes, if I worked out of my home, it would probably be different for me. It seems like I'm seldom there anymore.

I'm with Anne....I couldn't care less about the cell phone...In fact, I rather never talk on the phone at all, which is strange, b/c I used to spend hours on it. BUT, like your friend, I feel addicted to the computer. Maybe that will change when I get a new boyfriend too.(I'm sure Joe won't mind,as he got a new girlfriend in the mail today...He and Miss Laptop are insepratable)

So Joe got a laptop today. It's probably wireless, so he'll even take it to bed.

It was funny tonight. At the bar after class I checked my email via my phone, and someone made fun of me.

I've been made fun of for worse. :)

YES, it is wireless, and yes, he will probably spend a lot of time in bed with it...isn't that what you do with a mistress? ;o)

The really interesting thing, Cin, is that it's going to be a threesome, 'cause I assume you have to be in the bed sometime.

I do go to bed sometimes but it is rarely with your brother(and/or his new LapLady) I keep telling him how lucky he is to have a wife that will put up with sleeping alone for much of her marriage. He makes it up to me in many ways though, so I forgive him. So once a week HE is MINE and the other 6 DAYS he sleeps he can take his new friend with him. ;o)

I always knew that Aunt Cindy was open minded! :-)
Mom, I can't believe that you are not ONE with your cell phone anymore. It's really hard to imagine that... So you actually eat your dinner without typing?????

Cindy, for others reading this, we should probably say your husband works nights, which is why you guys sleep alone six days a week.

And I've been thinking...you don't have to worry unless his LapLady turns into a LapDancer.

Beata, when Russ and I were dating we text messaged all the time. Now I just use my phone as a phone. Oh, and to get my email when I'm away from my computer.
