1/24 NC

I returned yesterday to find that Beata had to put her cat down. Adi was 13 years old and she and Beata had traveled from Denmark to Okinawa to North Carolina together. So obviously this household is very sad. I feel so bad for Beata, but am so proud of how Rob supported her (and is supporting her) through this really sad time.

As for me, I came away from Mississippi thinking I'd probably take the job if it were offered to me. We'll see what happens.

Beata doesn't even know me, of course, but I feel like I know her already...I love reading her blog! She is so warm and emotional and uplifting. It truly is a joy to see what she's up to. This time, though, I had to stop four lines in, cry a bit, and then return later in the day. I barely made it through the post...I know what that pain is like, and Rob was such a star to support her that way.

Also...as for Mississippi..."life" works in mysterious ways, eh? Ride the wave! -- Gretchen

Good luck mom with the decision making. I know what ever you choose, you will do great at it. I love you so very much.

Gretchen, I'm always so happy to see a note from you. And Beata was touched by your kind comment. Jer

Thanks, sweetie. I had the best time ever at your house. Since you were able to take off work, it made the visit so special. Love you. Mom

Hello Gretchen, that's true that I don't know you, but I am pleasantly surprised that you have been reading my blog! :-) See, now we do know each other. Adi was my baby girl and I always took her with me everywhere... it seemed more empty now in the house when she is gone. Even with other four animals. I just miss her... See you soon, Gretchen. :-)

Jer,

You all are welcome to stay in the Mississippi mud and help us all out.

Are you really from Mississippi, Steve? You've sure got that Wisconsin accent down pat.
