So last night I thought I'd be smart and swim laps (gently) at the gym. While I swam laps (40 minutes worth) everything felt so good. I couldn't do the Australian crawl the whole time, so I alternated with back, breast, and side strokes. (Gosh, sounds dirty, huh?) Thought the gentle stretching would be helpful. Then I sat in the huge Jacuzzi and stretched out the muscles some more. The good news is that the doc said that's exactly what she would have done. The bad news is that everything hurt worse this morning.
After the gym I was speaking to Russ on the phone, and Beata called me on the other phone. This popularity craze is kind of fun. Jill should have called at the same time, and I would have felt like a celebrity.
As far as my injured bod, I just need to be patient, and not exercise for a few days. So I think I'll drink beer instead.

I love it! That's a good one.
Hey, here is mine: get two beers and I will call you and talk about you know what!!! ;-)
I love your suggestion too, Beata.
Sorry to hear you had to sacrifice your body for the sake of comedy...Hopefully you will be feeling much better for the weekend in NYC. Have fun with Beata. I am sure Adam would love to be going, just to spend time with Shayna!
Thanks, Cin. I'm sure I'll feel better soon. We'll have until Thursday there, so I'll have plenty of time to recuperate.
Jer, you are impossible. First you blow it by inventing a too perfect fictional character. Now this. Come on. You're supposed to be a fiction writer, remember? You can do better than "pratfall." Start with, say, a trip to the zoo, an elephant reaching between the bars and grabbing you by the neck, then... (Sending gentle hugs and hoping you feel better soon.)
Well, the way Beata has been acting lately, she is far from "too perfect." In fact she gets more and more like me with each passing day. I pity my son.
You're right though about the story. I should have done much better. Yet, there is some pathetic comedy in the thought of a 58 year old, overweight woman taking a pratfall on stage.
